Jenn is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Women’s Studies. Alongside her studies into human nature, Jenn has always maintained a personal study of canine and feline behavior.
In 2008 she began formalized study to obtain certification as a professional dog trainer. In October of 2009 she completed a year long professional dog training program and graduated with honors from Animal Behavior College. In 2011, Jenn opened her own pet dog training facility, True Blue Dog Training, in Haydenville MA. There she taught obedience courses to puppies and adult dogs. She also taught “Agility for Fun”, Rally Obedience, Canine Good Citizen certification classes and day workshops for specific training issues.
Jenn joined the Grinning Dog staff in 2013 after closing the training facility. Jenn is a member of The Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and an approved AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) evaluator. Jenn is also one of only a handful of Certified Professional Animal Care Providers (CPACP) in Massachusetts! Jenn likes to take a holistic approach to dog training and has completed seminars in Tellington Touch with Sally Morgan; Teaching the Reactive Dog with Emma Parsons; and Animal Communication with Dawn Allen. Jenn lives in Northampton with her husband and two Basenjis.
