A full time member of the Grinning Dog community, Diane’s life has always been filled with dogs and dog activities. From grooming (full time for over 25 years) to work in the shelter world, her job experience has enabled her to develop proficient handling skills as well as a keen interest in training and behavior. Many classes, workshops and seminars later, she stays up on all that’s new in the training world.
For fun she has trained and then competed successfully with her own dogs in the sports of agility, tracking and sheepherding. A recently discovered obsession is Nosework which has rekindled her passion for canine scent work. Eager participants in this fun are her two adopted mixed breed dogs. They also happily accompany Diane on hikes, gardening chores and road trips.
Diane brings to The Grinning Dog an excellent command of DogSpeak, a finely tuned intuition for what dogs are feeling and endless curiosity about what makes them tick. Perhaps most important, she brings coffee on Fridays....
