A member of our team since June 2019, Amelia started her work here by doing a meticulous job caring for all Paradox puppies and their Moms. She has been instrumental in their socialization, comfort, cleanliness and health. Head of our Summer School, Puppy Steps and CogniPlay programs, Amelia is a skilled, patient and focused dog handler. Her pupils have brushed up their manners, learned some fun tricks and her PuppySteps program is giving puppies important foundational skills. Amelia is a detail oriented general caregiver for overnight and daycare guests. She is an energetic Custom Care provider for those Grinning Dogs that enjoy extra TLC, play time and nature walks. She can be found running laps with a lucky dog in the Woods Pen! Amelia is also one of only a handful of Certified Professional Animal Care providers (CPACP) in all of Massachusetts! Amelia's bliss, it seems, is simply being in the company of dogs. We are delighted to have her as part of our team.
"A true animal lover at heart, my passion began early on in life. My various experiences involving horses, goats, dogs, and rabbits only led me to realize that I love working with dogs the most! At 11 years old, I started volunteering at a service dog organization, happily spending hours on end cleaning and caring for all of the resident dogs. My ultimate dream came true when I took home a potential service dog puppy to train for his future job. Over the next few years, I brought home many other working dogs, continuing their training and socialization. At age 13, I began a dog walking business and also got involved in fostering rescue dogs. Having the opportunity to personally work with many different kinds of dogs was extremely rewarding. Two years later, an opportunity came up to raise a future breeder pup for the service dog organization that I previously volunteered for. I am now enjoying showing, grooming, and gaining trick titles with a standard poodle named Miley. It has been quite an adventure with her thus far and I absolutely cannot wait for more!"
