Laurie joined us in spring 2026. Her interest in behavior is rooted in her background studying how environments shape outcomes. After a 25-year career in academia and nonprofit work, she shifted her focus to working more directly with people and their dogs–drawn to the impact of building calmer, more connected relationships.
"I am passionate about helping our best friends feel safe, confident, and able to navigate the world with ease. I especially enjoy helping dogs gain confidence through socialization. I like to emphasize emotions first, helping dogs move from stress and overexcitement toward optimism and relaxation.
At home, my greatest teacher is Apple, a 30 lb goldendoodle whose sensitive and enthusiastic nature first sparked my journey into training."
